Normal Tuber-joint Angle of Korean People

Abstract

|
Normal ankle joints subjected to this study were divided into five groups; under 5, 6 to 10, 11 to 15, 16 to 20 and above 21 years of age. Each group contained 10 males and 10 females. The measurement of tuber-joint angle was done with the lateral x-ray picture of right ankle.
1. In all groups the mean value of tuber-joint angle showed no significant difference between male and female.
2. The angle showed the definite trend of decrease in both sexes with increase of the ages.
3. Coincidental measurement of contralateral tuber-joint angle should be mandatory, as the individual variation elicited in this study was comparatively high.
